• Question: Why do fish have gills?

      Fish use their gills to absorb oxygen from the water in the same way we take in oxygen from the air. We don’t have them because once some animals moved onto the land we didn’t need them any more so they were lost- some research suggests that our ears formed from what used to be our gills!
