      That’s a great question! The answer is that we currently don’t know. According to the standard cosmological model, the universe had different era of expansion since the big bang. At first it underwent inflation, which means it rapidly expanded, but after inflation its expansion rate was much smaller, but also accelerated. At the moment we think its expansion is accelerating, and we don’t know how long that would last for and if it will ever change, or how it will change.
