I used to think being scientist was a really cool job when I was younger and liked films like Jurassic Park and Twister, but I never thought I was clever enough to do something that exciting! Then once I got to university I realised that actually I could do this and I’ve never looked back, you get to carry on learning new things which is great. I hardly ever get bored and I get to go to loads of cool places and meet interesting people, as well as do crazy things I never imagined like learn to shoot a rifle, eat reindeer (although I’ve gone veggie since!) and walk on a glacier.
