I think a lot of people say they don’t like science because they had a really boring time at school or a bad teacher but science covers everything in the world in some way so I think it’s about making people realise that science tells them about and can influence the things they like. For example, lots of people loved watching Blue Planet recently and there was so much science involved in that from the deep water submarines to the psychology of fish. Or the winter olympics, the UK are so good at skeleton because we have great equipment, again down to science.

Big events like SpaceX putting a car in space can often get people excited too which means that even if they’re not that useful scientifically they’re still serving a purpose and getting people talking.
