I finished high-school after completing my A-levels when I was 18. I then spent 4 years studying for my “undergraduate” degree and a further 3 years to get my doctorate (PhD). Most of my time doing a PhD was actually doing research.

Hi, I did the same as Stephen – 4 years for my undergraduate degree and 3 years to get my PhD. When you do a PhD in the UK you did get a small salary so when doing my PhD, I was a kind of ‘trainee-scientist’.

I still work in a university so I feel like I not really left school, but in a good way I’m always learning new things! I also did the same as Stephen and Lisa but my PhD was 4 years, they must be a bit smarter than me 😉
